A History of LDS Publications
This page will try to give a complete history (and even text when possible) to the periodicals that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has printed since it's organization in 1830.
So far, this is what I have compiled.
Order:
- Ensign (replacing the Improvement Era and the Relief Society Magazine)
- 1971 to present, Salt Lake City.
In 1970, The church replaced the Children's Friend, the Relief Society Magazine, the Instructor, the Improvenment Era and the Millenial Star with the Ensign, the New Era, and the Friend.
- Instructor (replacing the Juvenile Instructor)
- 1930-1970
- The Relief Society Magazine (replacing the Women's Exponent)
- 1914-1970
- The Children's Friend (becoming The Friend in 1971)
- 1902-present
- Improvement Era (replacing the Contributor)
- 1897 through 1970, Salt Lake City.

- Juvenile Instructor
- 1866-1930
- Millennial Star
- England (The longest running publication)
1840-1970
- Times and Seasons (replacing the Elders Journal)
- 1839 - 1846, Commerce and Nauvoo, Illinois
